German researchers using lutetium-177 SPECT/CT found that recovery coefficients based on CT scans of a 3D-printed two-compartment kidney model and the model's computer-aided design figures were the most accurate in measuring tracer activity. The study, published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, "represents another step toward a standardized quantification of SPECT/CT for dosimetry calculations, enabling an individualized dosimetry and, therefore, improving the therapeutic success of molecular radiotherapies," said researcher Johannes Tran-Gia.
