An analysis in the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience found that in-hospital palliative care for patients with multiple sclerosis increased to 6.1% in 2014, up from 1.5% in 2010, and of hospitalized patients with MS who died, 58.8% received palliative care in 2014. The study also showed that even though length of stay for hospitalized MS patients receiving palliative care increased, the cost of care decreased.
