A drug pricing plan released Thursday by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., would allow HHS to negotiate the price for as many as 250 drugs each year and extend those lower prices for people with Medicare or private health insurance. The proposal would hit pharmaceutical companies that refuse to negotiate a lower price with a 65% tax on a drug's gross sales, going up to 95% if the company continued to refuse to negotiate.
