An artificial intelligence-driven algorithm developed by Johns Hopkins researchers dubbed CompCyst could improve the diagnosis of pancreatic cysts and help differentiate patients at risk for cancer who need surgery from those with a low cancer risk who may be candidates for monitoring. The algorithm, described in Science Translational Medicine, is meant to complement imaging and genetic tests, says research fellow Marco Dal Molin.
