Canadian researchers found that older adults with dementia who received trazodone therapy had similar rates of major osteoporotic fractures, hip fractures and falls, compared with those who took atypical antipsychotics. However, the findings in the Canadian Medical Association Journal showed a reduced mortality rate among those in the trazodone group.
