Sixty-five percent of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging trainees reported having no preclinical exposure to the field, even though 76% of medical school faculty members reported having provided didactics, while 80% of students expressed interest in the specialties after finishing medical school, according to a study in Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology. The findings suggest the need for encouraging interest among medical students and more effective integration in clinical and preclinical curricula, researchers wrote.
