A study published in the Journal of Neuroscience Research found links between post-traumatic stress disorder and higher risks of cardiovascular disease and cancer. The association between CVD and PTSD strengthens the longer PTSD goes untreated, highlighting "the importance of early intervention for PTSD and also education programs for the general population to make people aware about PTSD early warning signs and how to recognize them," said researcher Andrea Pozza.
