Underinsurance rate on the rise, survey shows

A Commonwealth Fund survey found that the Trump administration's actions altering the Affordable Care Act did not significantly affect the number of uninsured Americans, but more Americans are underinsured under the new policies. The poll found that around 12% of Americans were uninsured last year, which is statistically the same as in 2016, but out-of-pocket spending was higher, and the biggest growth in underinsurance was among adults who have employer-sponsored plans.
