Adults with new-onset type 2 diabetes who also had sleep disorders had a 46% higher risk of all-cause dementia, 69% higher risk of other dementia and 39% higher risk of Alzheimer's disease, compared with those without sleeping disorders. The findings published in the Journal of Diabetes also showed that men and older adults with sleep disorders had an increased risk of dementia among those with type 2 diabetes, compared with those without sleep disorders.
