Researchers evaluated 513 youths with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who were enrolled in a prospective clinical trial and found a significant association between increased intake of dietary antioxidants and lower rates of infection and mucositis. The findings in the Journal of Clinical Oncology found no association between dietary antioxidants and disease-free survival or relapse, as well as between supplementation and survival, toxicity or relapse.
