Harris Poll surveyed 2,027 US patients and found that less than 50% reported discussing social determinants of health, such as mental health, diet and sleep, with their doctors, while 52% said their conversations with physicians were limited to medical needs, such as medications, physical symptoms and results. When asked what they wanted their physicians to discuss with them, 53% said nonmedical therapies and 45% said their reasons for wanting to be healthy.
Survey: Over half of patients want to talk about nonmedical therapies
