Adolescent and young adult cancer survivors had significantly improved survival from 2001 to 2014 than from 1988 to 2000 due to improvements in survival among those with HIV/AIDS-related cancers, according to a study in JNCI Cancer Spectrum. Researchers also found that cancer stage was the strongest predictor of mortality, while deaths were significantly less likely among whites and those with high socioeconomic status.
