Older adults with brain cancer who underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy had similar survival, side effects and quality of life as younger patients who received the same treatment combo, according to a study presented at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists' annual meeting. The findings suggest that prolonged radiotherapy and chemotherapy may be beneficial in seniors with brain cancer, said researcher Dr. Brendan Liu.
