A four-week remote reading program resulted in a 140% increase in virtual reporting productivity and "slightly" improved service at London-based St. Mary's Hospital, which enabled the hospital to provide remote reading capabilities for almost all consultant radiologists when the COVID-19 lockdown began, according to a study in Clinical Radiology. "There has been a national realization across healthcare, as for other workplaces, that remote working is desirable for the duration of the pandemic and that remote working should be optimized to provide a service as good as that seen in traditional in-hospital Trust settings," researchers wrote.
