A partnership was reached by Boston-based BioDirection and Harvard University researchers to develop the portable Tbit device to enable traumatic brain injury diagnosis within 90 seconds using a drop of blood, a technology that could be used on football fields, in the military and in other nonhospital settings. The company will now conduct a 500-patient study and looks to submit the results to the FDA within 10 months.
