EHRs, lack of autonomy contribute to physician burnout

Nearly 78% of physicians surveyed by The Physician's Foundation in 2018 said they experienced burnout at least sometimes, and EHR systems are a contributing factor due to their lack of interoperability and interference with patient care. A lack of autonomy and an increased administrative burden that takes away from time with patients are other factors contributing to burnout.
