Data from a study that aimed to establish trends on the prevalence and mortality for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis and other liver diseases in 47,062 Medicare beneficiaries with HIV found that more people in this population are developing NAFLD, which is becoming a significant cause for liver disease and mortality. Details from the study were presented at the International Liver Congress 2019.
