Patients admit lying to doctors, study finds

Between 60% and 80% of patients who participated in a study published in JAMA Network Open said they have lied to their doctor, which could lead to dangerous outcomes, said lead author Angela Fagerlin, professor and chair of population health sciences at University of Utah Health. Numerous reasons were cited, including a misunderstanding of the doctor's instructions and disagreeing with recommendations.
