Data on 1.1 million elective colonoscopies with in-network endoscopists and facilities showed 12.1% had out-of-network claims, with 64% involving out-of-network anesthesiologists and 40% out-of-network pathologists, researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The likelihood of an out-of-network claim was 13.9% when an intervention was done during a colonoscopy and 8.2% when an intervention was not performed.
