The CMS has initiated recovery of advance Medicare payments given to health care providers as part of the government's pandemic assistance. Recovery of the COVID-19 Accelerated and Advance Payments started last week after being postponed in August, and the agency can pull the repayments out of future Medicare reimbursements.
