Survival rates for patients with stage T1b esophageal adenocarcinoma who who had endoscopic resection were similar to rates for patients who underwent esophagectomy, the standard treatment, according to a study presented by Daryl Ramai, MD, of the Brooklyn Hospital Center, at ACG's 2020 Annual Virtual Scientific Meeting. Endoscopic therapy is underused and should be considered primary therapy, Ramai said.
