During a recent question-and-answer session, Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton said a fiduciary rule should offer investors greater clarity about the standard of care their advisers or brokers will meet. His other major goals for the rule include improving protection and achieving greater regulatory coordination. Clayton did not say when to expect the rule.
