The pandemic has meant less waste from some sectors, an increase in residential cardboard, bottles and cans, and financial hardship for municipalities, all of which affects Waste Management's business in landfills and recycling facilities, says CEO Jim Fish. "Ultimately, when the world gets back to normal, we will again move toward fewer single-use items and more reusable ones," he says.
