Granite boulders need to be bored through for a project at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Virginia, pushing the completion date of two additional tunnels back two years to 2024. The boulders were placed 60 years ago to protect four artificial islands that anchor portals for the site's two original tunnels.
