The US Transportation Department is awarding about $1.5 billion in Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD, grants, which were formerly known as Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER, grants. The government is providing the maximum amount of $25 million each to nine projects, including rehabilitation work on New York City's Brooklyn Bridge.
