The House of Representatives has approved an amendment to its Interior-Environment spending bill for fiscal 2021 that would maintain the status of 51 projects currently seeking Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act loans. The bill originally sought to "rescind all outstanding unobligated WIFIA appropriations from the 2017, 2018, and 2019 fiscal years and use this funding -- estimated by the Appropriations Committee to be roughly $71 million -- to support new loans in FY21," the Water Environment Foundation and other water groups wrote in a letter to lawmakers on Wednesday.
