Georgia Power, the leader of the $25 billion Plant Vogtle nuclear plant expansion in Georgia, says a 375,000-pound reactor coolant pump, the first of four, has been placed in the containment vessel of Unit 3. The unit, which is expected to be finished in November 2021, now features steel and concrete building panels to protect the vessel.
