Officials will break ground today at the site of the first of three specialty hospitals for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's $2 billion expansion. In addition to standard amenities for medical professionals and patients, the nine-story UPMC Vision and Rehabilitation Tower will include a 3D street laboratory, a gene and cell therapy facility, and an apartment mockup to help patients relearn life skills.
