Researchers at the University of the West of England are working on ways to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to quickly determine and reduce the amount of embodied carbon in construction during the planning stage. The project involves gathering data on embodied carbon from previous projects and applying AI to discern patterns and learn from them in ways that, over time and with more data, provide for quick carbon calculations.
