Heavy rain and snow melting in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas has spurred unprecedented flooding that has compromised 200 miles of levees, destroyed one dam, damaged bridges and swamped at least 42 wastewater treatment plants. Flooding likely will continue into next week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency says.
