Study finds increase in rate of pregnant women with chronic hypertension

A study published in the journal Hypertension has found a more than thirteenfold increase in the rate of women who had chronic high blood pressure during pregnancy from 1970 to 2010. The data also showed that white women had an annual increase of 7%, while black women had an annual increase of 4%, but black women were more than twice as likely to have hypertension during pregnancy.
