Hospital trade group calls on Congress to pass bill strengthening 340B program

340B Health, a hospital trade association, called on Congress to pass legislation recently introduced by Rep. Doris Matsui, D-Calif., that would strengthen drugmakers' accountability in the 340B drug discount program and reverse Medicare payment cuts for the program's outpatient drug purchases. Passing the bill, which would require HHS to audit 340B providers and require drugmakers to publicly disclose drug-pricing information, "will reduce costs and expand access to needed care," said Maureen Testoni, the interim president and CEO of 340B Health.
