Providing public-transit services to customers on demand, called "Uberizing," can change a city's approach to transportation, according to Junfeng Jiao, Nicole McGrath and Juan Miro of the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to connecting ride-hailing services with public buses and trains, cities could use idle school buses during school hours to better serve public-transportation needs.
