The US continues to lead the world in corporate power purchase agreements, with American wind and other renewable energy projects accounting for about 16 gigawatts of the 20 GW worth of deals signed worldwide in 2019, says RE-Source. The European Union only saw 2.5 GW worth of renewable energy PPAs last year, partially because the European market is less mature and carries greater risk, it says.
