Kelp dating back about 16,000 years to the last ice age has been found in the northern Atlantic Ocean, not far from Scotland, Ireland and France. "Our study shows how marine organisms adjust to shifting climates by migrating polewards and even across the Atlantic when conditions are favorable," says Joao Neiva, an author of a study on the find published in the European Journal of Phycology.
