An international survey of glacial lakes in the Tibetan Plateau has found that 210 of the 1,300 lakes could pose a flooding hazard to nearby communities. The lakes with the greatest threat potential are Cirenmaco and Galongco, according to researcher Simon Allen of the University of Zurich.
