Average global temperatures in 2018 were not as high as they were in 2015, 2016 and 2017, but they were high enough to make the year the fourth hottest on record, according to studies by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA. The studies also show that 2018 was the third wettest in the US.
