During the AAG's Virtual Annual Meeting in April, the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition sponsored an interdisciplinary track entitled Geographers Respond to COVID-19. These discussions raised important, high-stakes questions of ethics and human rights, including ecological-ethical dilemmas of geographical research; access to digital spaces as a vital right; higher education in internet-deserts; the unequal burden of diseases in urban settings; as well as ethics of animal testing for vaccine development. The chairs of panels in that track offer their insights in a series of short essays you can read here. In addition, recordings of the panels are still available for anyone to watch.
