More veterinary clinics are setting up comfortable, quiet rooms for clients who bring their pets in for euthanasia, with some handling cremation and offering memorial paw prints and fur clippings. "As society continues to pay more attention to questions about the moral status of animals, loss of animal life should be handled with the utmost respect and compassion by all animal care staff," according to the AVMA's euthanasia guidelines.
