USDA: Pig producers should work with veterinarians to prevent ASF

USDA Chief Veterinary Officer Jack Shere says pig producers and veterinarians should become familiar with African swine fever, and producers should review biosecurity plans with their veterinarian and report sick pigs immediately. Signs of ASF include high fever, poor appetite, weakness, red or blotchy skin lesions, diarrhea, vomiting, coughing and labored breathing.
