A UN report predicting massive extinctions may seem overwhelming, but conservationists and the report's authors say small steps taken by individuals would have a significant impact. Experts suggest converting all or part of grass lawns to gardens filled with milkweed and other beneficial plants, erecting bat boxes, reducing purchases of single-use plastic items, reducing food waste, and using public transit, carpooling, walking or bicycling instead of driving.
