A dog will move if its body is the obstacle to a task, suggesting that dogs are aware of how their bodies occupy space, according to an article published in Scientific Reports. In an experiment involving 32 dogs of different breeds and sizes, dogs were more likely to move off a mat to pick up a toy attached to it than they were if the toy was not attached or was attached to the ground.
