Black bear cub hit by car gets orthopedic surgery

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Cornell University's Janet L. Swanson Wildlife Health Center and Kindred Kingdoms Wildlife Rehabilitation helped save a black bear cub that was hit by a car in Adirondack Park. Veterinary orthopedic surgeon Kei Hayashi set the cub's broken radius with a metal plate, and it will be returned to the wild after recovering at the wildlife rehabilitation center.
