A squirrel found in Morrison, Colo., was infected with bubonic plague, and the disease was also detected the prior week in Broomfield, health officials reported. Cats and people can become infected through the bite of an infected animal or flea, and health officials advise using flea and tick preventives and avoiding contact with wild animals.
