The Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, is seeking healthy dogs weighing 50 or more pounds and healthy cats weighing at least 10 pounds to donate blood. The process is quick and free, donors get exams and treats, and donations can save the life of a pet that has been injured, has a life-threatening infection or is undergoing surgery, says veterinary surgeon Trina Bailey.
