Veterinarians at Tufts University's Cummings Veterinary Medical Center are running a clinical trial on a long-lasting insulin that would require weekly instead of twice-daily injections. If successful, the medicine could improve quality of life for diabetic dogs and their owners, says veterinarian Orla Mahony, who is also designing a trial of long-lasting insulin for cats.
