Veterinary orthopedic surgeon Kei Hayashi, resident Greta VanDeventer and the wildlife team at Cornell University's Wildlife Health Center used a plate and screws to repair the fractured foreleg of a female black bear cub that was hit by a car. The bear is recovering at Kindred Kingdoms Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and likely will be returned to the wild in spring.
