Norwich terriers with two copies of a certain variant of the ADAMTS3 gene had worse airway function than dogs without or with only one copy of the variant, researchers reported in PLOS Genetics. The variant was also found in French and English bulldogs, suggesting that brachycephaly might not be the only factor in respiratory dysfunction.
