University of California at Davis veterinarians Deana Clifford and Jamie Peyton collaborated on a treatment for a 5-month-old mountain lion whose paws had been badly burned in Southern California's Thomas Fire, and the approach they devised appears to be accelerating the cat's recovery. They applied a salve made with honey, olive oil, coconut oil and beeswax, followed by tilapia skin bandages to one paw, and this week Dr. Peyton placed a fresh bandage on the paw.
