Filming animals with a high-resolution camera enabled veterinarians to monitor the heart and respiratory rates of giant pandas, lions, tigers, orangutans, baboons, koalas, red kangaroos, alpacas and blue penguins at Adelaide Zoo. The researchers say the method could be used to monitor animal health noninvasively at zoos and in the wild.
